Love Lies Bleeding is a queer film made for a queer audience that harkens back to the days of lesbian pulp fiction with a neo-noir, neon edge, complete with an ’80s synth soundtrack.

All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt is visual proof of the ways history expands and repeats itself, and of how it’s possible to love and cherish memories without living in the past.

Gripping from the beginning and unrelenting in its terror, Talk to Me will surely be the source of nightmares for many.

“Who do you think they are to each other?” The question echoes as the film’s ending returns to the bar where it was initially asked. Perhaps a better question is, what does it mean to know someone?

Aftersun is left open-ended, and that’s a perfect conclusion to this portrait of a father and daughter relationship. It speaks to the inability of a child to truly understand their parents, no matter how valiantly they try.

While The Eternal Daughter is an interesting concept, effortlessly supported by both of Swinton’s performances, the relationship between mother and daughter isn’t as developed as one would like.

As the film progresses, the audience is begging for The Inspection to challenge them on something. Anything. The film doesn’t need to be pro- or anti-military to be successful, but it does need to know what it wants to say.

Ultimately, it’s very obvious from the onset if Bodies Bodies Bodies will incite a mid-level or rave review from you. For those who don’t fully appreciate its distinct brand of humor, there’s still enough of a twisty, turny good time to make it worthwhile, although the charm wanes fairly quickly.
